Calendar Club Team

The management team at Calendar Club work hard to produce a consistently successful seasonal retailing business model. With around 300 Calendar stores, 20 Halloween stores and a successful B2C e-commerce business, all staff experience an intense peak season from September to January to open all of our temporary stores and maximise our sales..

  • Sharon Colclough

    Sharon Colclough - Managing Director

    Sharon started her career as an accountant with Siemens plc., before becoming the Financial Controller at Calendar Club in 2001. Following various promotions, taking more responsibility for other areas of the business, in May 2011 Sharon was appointed as Managing Director.  Sharon enjoys walking and cycling, and spends all her free time with her family.

  • Bill Nettelfield

    Bill Nettelfield - Property Director

    Bill was instrumental in the 1998 launch of Calendar Club when the first 12 temporary stores were opened. Bill's role as Property Director primarily involves securing the licences for all shop and mall sites, and is crucial to the running of the business each year. His established relationships with shopping centre landlords across the UK and Ireland are a vital aspect of maintaining the Calendar Club business model. Bill also gets involved in all key areas of store operations. His hard work was rewarded in April 2013, when he received the Outstanding Contribution to Commercialisation award at the inaugural Opal Awards ceremony, hosted by the British Council of Shopping Centres. This was in recognition of his tireless commitment over the years to the growth of the pioneering 'pop-up shop' concept that Calendar Club has become famous for. Bill is passionate about Leeds United, loves cooking and can occasionally be found resting on a hot beach in between hectic Calendar Club seasons.

  • Becky Salter

    Becky Salter - Buying Manager

    A team member since 1999, Becky is a true Calendar Club veteran. Having studied Business Studies and Accounting at A Level, Becky began her career in calendars as a seasonal warehouse picker for the first 3 years. With a stint as a Store Co-ordinator supporting Store Operators in between, Becky then made her way into the Buying department in 2003 and never looked back. Becky now runs the Buying department with her team of knowledgeable calendar enthusiasts. When Becky occasionally ventures beyond the Calendar Club head office walls, she enjoys reading, drawing, painting and photography as well as spending time with her family.

  • Mark Lee

    Mark Lee - Property Manager

    ​After returning from travelling around India in the summer of 2006, Mark joined the Calendar Club Accounts team as a seasonal temp with the intention of working for 3 months and Mark is still with Calendar Club today, having taken the role of Accounts Manager in February 2012. As well as heading up the Accounts team, Mark also works closely with Bill Nettelfield on the property side of the business, helping to ensure that over 300 shop and mall unit leases are secured and in place for store openings every Autumn. Having graduated from the University Of Leeds in 2005 with a degree in Human Geography,

  • Gee Barrett

    Gee Barrett - Warehouse Manager

    ​Warehouse Manager Gee Barrett has been with Calendar Club since its inception in the UK in 1998. Gee spent his first two seasons with Calendar Club travelling the country setting up seasonal stores with fixtures and fittings. Moving into the head office warehouse in 2000, Gee took responsibility for all aspects of calendar stock movement and introduced systems that took a warehouse shipping capacity from 13 stores to over 300 stores today. In 2010 the online despatch warehouse moved under Gee’s wing and in 2011, with the move to the new Exe Box premises, the store fixtures also became part of his remit. When he is not running the 12,000 m2 warehouse, in his spare time Gee is working on a boat project with a view to actually getting it in the water one year.

  • Helen Winterbourne

    Helen Winterbourne - Operations Manager and Ecommerce Manager

    ​In 2000 Helen moved to Exeter from Poole to study Biology at the University, having had a particular interest in Evolutionary Genetics. We’re still not sure what that says about her decision to take a position at Calendar Club, but in 2004 Helen started her career in the Accounts department, then moved into Buying, before finding her ‘home’ in the IT Solutions team which she now heads up. IT Solutions develop and manage the database applications & reports used by all Calendar Club staff so they are constantly busy. In 2010, Helen also took on the role of Ecommerce Manager, overseeing the online team. With any remaining energy, Helen likes to hill walk, rock climb and spend time with friends & family.

  • Gemma Haydon

    Gemma Haydon - Transport Manager

    ​Gemma started at Calendar Club in August 2002 arranging the shipping of stock to a handful of Calendar Club stores. Her role has expanded to include the shipping and booking of deliveries for the entire Otter House Group and keeping everybody safe, assisting the Health & Safety officer. Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her husband, family and friends.

  • Paul Winterbourne

    Paul Winterbourne - Group IT Manager

    ​Paul serves as the Group IT Manager for Calendar Club Ltd. He has been working in the computer and telecommunication field for many years and during this time he has held a number of positions from first/second line support positions to senior level technical consultancy roles for various London and South West based companies. Paul’s role covers a broad area of activities including managing, maintaining and configuring the network infrastructure, identifying new technologies, managing supplier relationships and identifying areas where systems and costs could be improved. Paul did his undergraduate work at Exeter University studying Archaeology, however he now digs around in the server room rather than on ancient sites. Outside of work Paul likes to run half marathons, walk up mountains, play guitar and is an avid climber.

  • Steve Naylor

    Steve Naylor - Store Design and Development Manager

    ​Steve has been a Territory Manager with Calendar Club for some fifteen years, but he also has considerable professional experience in exhibition and retail design. During this time, he worked with agencies as far-flung as New Zealand, later returning to the UK and opting to start his own gallery and framing business in Matlock, Derbyshire, while continuing with his freelance design work. It was here that he first crossed paths with Calendar Club, when he met founders Gary and Hendrik through renowned artist Pollyanna Pickering. Steve’s hobby is classic car restoration and he also competes in classic motorsport events. His brief as newly-appointed Store Design and Development Manager is to establish and co-ordinate a cross-departmental team to oversee all matters of store design, graphic design, point of sale, signage and the future development of fixtures and shop layouts. 

  • David Pike

    David Pike - Group Director

    ​David started his career as an Economist before setting up his own calendar publishing business.  In 2010 he became the Zebra Group Managing Director, of which Calendar Club is a part of.  David is the Director responsible for our latest seasonal concept, Halloween.  He has been instrumental in driving the project forward with scary determination!  After a successful trial of five stores last year, we have opened 20 stores this year.
